Looking into getting your own website designed, but the one thing stopping you is you’re afraid of the cost?   Ever wondered how much website design pricing costs?  What is a good web design price? The answer might not be as simple as just a cost. You have no know exactly what you are getting for the price you pay. Here are some tips on web pricing, what you get, and why it costs what it costs. 

By the hour:  This is the most common way for any website designer to charge is to do it by the hour. What are those rates?  Well, believe it or not there is a reasonable range and that is between eight dollars and five hundred dollars an hour.  Why such a huge difference?  The low side of that range usually applies to an overseas designer. Does the lower cost mean inferior work? The answer is no, whether you pay the lower price or the higher price, you will get the perfect website for your business.

By the project:  Some designers work alone, some designers are part of a firm.  For a design form that charges by the project, there really is no range because it all depends on how simple or complicated the project is.

By the page:  A web designer, whether they work alone or in a firm, may just charge by the page.  How many pages does your website have because that’s the price they will charge?  What is the rate per page?  The normal rate is between one hundred and two hundred dollars a page.  Want to know how to keep the cost on the lower side?  Simple, make your page an easy design without too many custom designs.  Another great way to make the price low is to buy in bulk, the designer may drop the per page cost if you order a big enough number.

Blog designs:  These days some people don’t necessarily want a huge page, but maybe just a blog.  The price of a good blog design begins at around fifteen hundred dollars.  This may seem like a huge cost, but you get what you pay for including the latest software and the freshest look.

Web design pricing can be a complicated manner, but if you shop around and do things a certain way, like use a simple design and use a firm that charges by the project or page, then the cost should not be too high.  After all, it is your page so choose wisely and see that page become a reality!
